Hackney Council has announced that Berkeley Homes and housing association group Circle Anglia will develop four sites in Woodberry Down in north London. The contract includes 457 homes for rent, 196 homes for shared ownership and 607 homes for sale.
Six firms selected to help regenerate areas in North Staffordshire

Six firms have been selected to help to regenerate neighbourhoods and renovate older housing in North Staffordshire by the area's housing market renewal pathfinder. Renew North Staffordshire has selected Balfour Beatty, The Casey Group, Keepmoat, Thomas Vale, Toft Johnson and Wates to be on a contracting panel. Seddon and Lovells will be held on a reserve list to provide further support if necessary. Panel members will now be invited to tender on projects such as the creation of new public spaces and parks, and the paving of roads and pavements, as well as the renovation of old homes.
Shortlist of six developers for CompAir Holman site

A shortlist of six developers for the CompAir Holman site in Camborne, Cornwall, has been announced by national regeneration agency English Partnerships. Bellway Homes, Crest Nicholson, Midas Homes, Places for People, Taylor Woodrow Developments and Wain Homes have been invited to prepare in depth submissions to create 380 homes, light industrial space, live work units, offices and communal open spaces on the site.
ProLogis selected by regional development agency

Distribution firm ProLogis has been selected by regional development agency Advantage West Midlands to redevelop the former Sideway Colliery in Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire. The project will provide warehouse distribution and business units for small to medium-sized enterprises, creating around 900 jobs by 2010, AWM said.

Appointment at The Housing Corporation

Rona Nicholson has been appointed as London field director of regulatory body the Housing Corporation. She will manage a budget of almost £2 billion for 2006-08 and will be responsible for regulating more than 500 registered social landlords. She joins from housing body the Orbit Group and replaces Steve Douglas who was appointed as deputy chief executive of the Housing Corporation in August.
Appointment at One North-East

Ian Brown and John Shipley have been appointed to the board of regional development agency One North-East. They replace Tim Cantle-Jones and Keith Taylor, who are retiring from the board. Christine Smith and Kevin Rowan have been reappointed to the board.
