It will look at the work the ODPM is doing to address coastal towns' housing, environmental and social problems and examine their need for special regeneration initiatives.
Call for social housing to receive European structural funding

Housing providers have called for social housing to be eligible to receive European structural funding. At a meeting of European ministers in Bristol last week, Cecodhas, the body representing European housing providers, said structural funds, worth £10 billion this year, should be made available for housing-led regeneration. National Housing Federation chief David Orr has urged the Government use its EU presidency to press for the measure.
