Medway Council regeneration manager Colin Lovell said he expected the authority's planning department to reach a decision on the scheme early in the new year, and if approved, for work to begin by the end of 2006. He said the scheme now depends on a final ODPM approval for £28.6 million promised in the Sustainable Communities Plan for the remediation and decontamination of the site.
