Southwark fun day

Hundreds of residents at a newly-regenerated housing estate in south London celebrated the completion of work on their revamped community with a fun day last week. Southwark Council, which contributed £4.5 million of the £17.4 million needed for the project, teamed up with Wandle and Habinteg housing associations to redevelop the Linden Grove Estate in Nunhead, providing 121 new homes, ten of which are shared ownership, which people have partly bought while paying rent on the unowned portion of the property. Activities on the day included flower arranging (above) and face painting.
