Covering an area totalling 500ha, the action plan will aim to help define the character and function of Mullingar as a gateway town. A key element of the exercise will focus on catering for the recreational needs of the town's residents and providing for co-ordinated urban expansion in the long term. Planning, design, social infrastructure and movement issues for the area will all be probed by the consultancy.
