Residents in the South Kilburn New Deal for Communities area in north London, have been invited to influence the future look and design of new homes to be built in the area. Brent Council and South Kilburn NDC were awarded £9.85 million from the Single Regional Housing Pot in March for the building of new homes. They are asking volunteers to join a working group to help shape the design of the new blocks.

The Government's delay in announcing how it intends to distribute funds from the Supporting People programme is disrupting the planning of services for vulnerable people, the National Housing Federation said this week. The federation has written to Lord Rooker, the minister responsible for regeneration, urging him to publish a timetable for the allocation of grants.

Over a 16-month period to 31 March 2004, it made £6.3 million and the value of its assets increased by 68 per cent to £30.4 million. Forthcoming projects include Lister Mills in Bradford and the Royal William Yard in Plymouth.
