Stop Press: Slot machines to be limited

High stake, high prize slot machines will be limited to the largest regional casinos when the gambling bill is introduced, culture secretary Tessa Jowell confirmed this week. She was responding to a joint committee report on the bill that recommended allowing some small casinos to have the 'category A' machines. Jowell said the machines will only be permitted in small casinos if studies show they are not increasing problem gambling.
