A Liverpool social enterprise has been boosted by a £50,000 loan from the not-for-profit Charity Bank. With the cash, the Liverpool Arts Property Trust aims to double the amount of affordable workspace it can offer creative businesses. As well as providing 23 workshop and office units, it will offer training, and business development and support services.

The project - Working Age Floating Support Service - is a collaboration between voluntary organisation and social landlord Novas and Somerset's five district councils and is funded by the ODPM's Supporting People programme.

Fusion East is a two-year project to celebrate the diversity of the boroughs of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham. A community pharmacy providing vital health facilities for a Scottish Highland town was opened last week. The Scottish Executive has provided a £124,000 grant for the pharmacy in Dornoch. The pharmacy is intended to provide easy access to medical advice and other health services through its consultation and treatment rooms, as well as opportunities for practitioners to deliver outreach services and treatment for drug abuse.
