Chris Nolan, Roger Wilmot, Kate Durston and Simon Exley have been appointed to lead four new planning teams at North Somerset Council's Weston-super-Mare office. Tony Parker and Mark Heppenstall have been promoted to compliance officers. Karen Dann and Cheryl Alton have been promoted to planning assistant and technical officer respectively.

Wembley Arena scheme approved

Plans to regenerate the heritage-listed Wembley Arena have cleared a hurdle after receiving planning permission from the London Borough of Brent. Following the decision to give developer Quintain outline planning permission for its wider Wembley scheme two weeks ago (Regeneration & Renewal, 11 June, p5), detailed plans for the arena have now received full planning permission and listed building consent.
