A shortlist of four architects has been drawn up for the redevelopment of a town centre site in Corby. The firms picked by urban regeneration company Catalyst Corby and Corby Borough Council to design the first phase of the Civic Hub, Arts Centre and Public Realm project are Fielden Clegg Bradley, Hawkins Brown, Rafael Vinoly and Richard Rogers Partnership.

Work has begun on an £18 million college in the West Midlands. The Centre for the Built Environment Birmingham and Solihull is intended to play a key role in reversing the shortage of skilled construction workers in the region. The project is being led by South Birmingham College and funded by the EU, regional development agency Advantage West Midlands, and Birmingham and Solihull Learning and Skills Council.

Cartwright Pickard Architects has been appointed to design the second phase of a £30 million regeneration scheme in Brighouse, West Yorkshire. The conversion of a 19th century waterside mill has been completed on the peninsula site. The next phase is intended to provide 250 apartments housed in two eight-storey buildings and an 11-storey extension to the mill. The scheme also incorporates a canalside bar and restaurant.
