The scheme is being supported by economic development agency Scottish Enterprise Grampian and regeneration agency Communities Scotland. It will offer training in traditional building techniques and conservation methods.

Transport News: Department for Transport launches consultation

A consultation to remove the statutory limit on the number of passenger flights at Stansted Airport has been launched by the Department for Transport. The statutory limit is 185,000 take-offs and landings a year. If parliament agrees to remove it, the limit set by Uttlesford District Council in a 2003 planning permission of 241,000 will come into effect.

Robert Napier, chief executive of campaign group WWF-UK, has been appointed to the board of English Partnerships. Planning minister Keith Hill has also appointed John Belcher, Aman Dalvi and Anne Wright to the board of the national regeneration agency. Belcher is chief executive of the Anchor Trust, a registered social landlord, Dalvi is chief executive of inward investment agency Gateway to London and Wright is a consultant specialising in e-learning and higher education.
