Four developers have been chosen to take forward the first stages of Liverpool's housing market renewal programme. NewHeartlands, which covers Merseyside and Liverpool, this week appointed David Wilson Homes, Keepmoat, Bellway Homes and Gleeson to begin work on four neighbourhoods within the pathfinder area. They will focus on City Centre North, Stanley Park, Wavertree and City Centre South respectively, undertaking a mixture of housing refurbishment and clearance.

Government regeneration agency English Partnerships has bought a 2.5ha site in Gloucester owned by the Gloucestershire College of Art and Technology, it was announced last week. Redevelopment of the strategic site near the city centre is part of a city-wide scheme run by new regeneration company, Gloucester Heritage Urban Regeneration Company. The college will finance a new campus in the Gloucester Docks.
