Stuart Todd has been appointed principal adviser to the South West Regional Assembly. He will be responsible for policy development across a range of regional issues affecting the South-West. Todd was previously senior planning officer at Horsham District Council, where he contributed to work on housing, leisure and open space.

Tim Field has been appointed chief executive of the Charlestown and Lower Kersal New Deal for Communities (NDC) programme in Salford. After an earlier spell at the NDC, Field worked on regeneration schemes in Blackburn and Liverpool before taking up a post as head of economic development at Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council.

Local strategic partnership Sheffield First has appointed board member Fergus Beesley to represent the organisation at a regional level. He will join the board of sub-regional strategic body the South Yorkshire Partnership, which brings together Yorkshire's LSPs and other regeneration agencies. Beesely is also director of environmental regeneration organisation Groundwork Sheffield.

The Community Foundation Network has appointed Stephen Hammersley as its new chief executive. He joins from the Tearfund, a UK development agency, where he was trading director, responsible for the organisation's fair trade activities. The foundation is an umbrella body representing more than 60 community foundations, organisations that promote charitable activities in local communities.

Chris White has been appointed operations director at RegenCo, Sandwell's urban regeneration company. White was heavily involved in setting up another of the country's URCs in Leicester, where he was development director. Also joining RegenCo is Eileen Molloy, who has been appointed development director. Molloy joins from regional development agency Yorkshire Forward, where she was head of property development.

Stephen Cox has been appointed senior associate at planning consultancy Roger Tym & Partners' Manchester office. His work will primarily focus on area-based regeneration and local economic development in the North-West in addition to his new managerial duties. Bernard Greep has been promoted from senior consultant to associate in the same office. He will specialise in physical regeneration projects and master-planning.
