The masterplan for London's 2012 Olympics bid has been delayed because of uncertainties over transport issues in the planning application, it emerged this week. It is understood that computer modelling of the traffic impact of the Olympic developments and neighbouring Stratford City are being rerun. A source close to the bid admitted this could put the application back by five weeks, but said that backers of the bid were still confident it would determined by the IOC's deadline of November.

A decision on one of the country's largest outstanding compulsory purchase orders was due to be decided after Regeneration & Renewal went to press. The Government was expected to deliver its verdict on the £750 million Paradise Street regeneration scheme in Liverpool, a spokesman for the city council said this week. If it gets the go-ahead, the scheme would see a 17ha area of central Liverpool transformed into a retail quarter.
